Day 1
Depart your home city for an afternoon or evening flight to Darwin. On arrival be transferred to the Holiday Inn Esplanade for 4 nights.

Day 2
Morning free to explore our tropical city. In the afternoon enjoy our Darwin City Explorer tour, visiting Cullen Bay, East Point Military Reserve and Charles Darwin National Park. There's time to explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. See how Darwin has grown over the years.

Day 3
We pick you up around 0700 to travel to Litchfield National Park. After a stop at Windows on the Wetlands Visitor Centre and a visit to the park's intriguing termite mounds, we have time to relax at beautiful Florence Falls and Wangi Falls, cascading from the Tabletop Ranges. You might like to swim in the plunge pools at the base of the falls or explore the surrounding monsoon rainforest. We leave the national park via the small township of Batchelor and return to your Darwin accommodation for the night.

Day 4
Approximately 220km east of Darwin lies one of Australia's best known treasures, Kakadu National Park. Leaving Darwin, we travel the Arnhem Highway across the Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains. A wide variety of native wildlife has made this region their home. We stop at Nourlangie Rock where your Driver/Guide will lead a walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art. After lunch (available for purchase), we join our local guide for a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong. Search for saltwater crocodiles and colourful birdlife on these lily-covered wetlands. Finally visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre with its informative displays about the traditions of the Aboriginal people in Kakadu, before returning to Darwin.

Day 5 - 7
Join The Ghan for the only North-South Transcontinental Train journey in the world. Pausing in Katherine, where you have the opportunity to cruise through Nitmiluk National Park, your journey continues to Alice Springs. Travelling through the Red Centre you arrive in Adelaide on the second day. Make your own way to the airport for afternoon flight home. (15 minutes by taxi or shuttle bus)

Package departs on a Saturday & Tuesday. It includes travel in Gold Kangaroo Service aboard The Ghan, four nights accommodation in Darwin and touring as stated, but no meals (variety of meals available for purchase). All flights include taxes and transfers to/from Darwin airport only. Prices quoted are adult fares per person. Pensioners deduct $300pp, CHCS Card holders deduct $500.
