After boarding at Adelaide's Keswick Rail Terminal, your first day on The Ghan begins with a light lunch in the Restaurant Car as you travel north towards Spence Gulf & Port Augusta. (L, D)

After arriving in Alice Springs you'll have time to look around town or enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour before reboarding the train and enjoying the desert scenery as you continue your journey North overnight. (B, L, D).

In the morning you arrive in Katherine with around four hours to explore Katherine Gorge. Then it's time to hop back on board for your journey North through the lush Top End country side before arriving in Darwin for three nights accommodation at the Holiday Inn Esplanade Darwin (B, L).

The morning is free to relax in this warm and cosmopolitan city before joining our afternoon City Explorer, to experience the growth Drawin has enjoyed over the past five years, we also take in the lush Botanical Gardens, East Point, Cullen Bay Estate along with Charles Darwin National Park and the Museum & Art Gallarey of the Northern Territory.

Experience a half day with the famous Adelaide River Jumping Crocodile Cruise. Your local guide will entice the crocodiles to leap out of the water. The cruise will enable you to see these prehistoric creatures at close range. Continue to the Darwin Crocodile farm to gain an insight to farming these fasinating animals before returning to Darwin
